Title: Sarcastic Reality Drop: "But Bro, It's Tradition"

Title: Sarcastic Reality Drop: "But Bro, It's Tradition"

"But bro, it's tradition."
Cool. So is using a chamber pot. You don't get to empty one on a public sidewalk. Tradition lives in your house, your temple, your community hall. Not across six lanes of traffic.

"But ancestors used to do it."
Your ancestors also walked barefoot everywhere, bathed in rivers with open sewage upstream, and died of infections from a paper cut. Feel free to revive all of that. Start with barefoot sprints on the highway. Let me know how that conversation with the truck driver goes.

"But it brings luck."
So does not getting fined. Statistically, keeping your money in your pocket has a 100% success rate for luck. Try it. New tradition: "The Ritual of Not Blocking the Fire Truck." Very auspicious.

"But you're attacking my culture."
No. I'm attacking your parking job. Your culture survived Mughals, empires, and colonialism. It can survive a traffic signal.

"But my freedom."
Your freedom to swing your fist ends at my nose. Your freedom to chant ends at my need to get to work. Your freedom to scatter flowers ends at the storm drain you just clogged.

Here's the real mantra: Your belief is a tenant. Public order is the landlord.

Pay your rent in consideration. Or pay your fine in cash.
